Is Canada safe for travel in 2021? What are the limitations?

Canada is a wonderland of nature and it’s a place where you can explore wildernesses, rugged mountains and temperate rainforests. You can explore the Great Lakes, experience the power of Niagara Falls, and explore sprawling landscapes that seem to go on for days.

Canada has an interesting mix of British and French heritage, which makes it an epic destination to visit. The country also has a good and deserved reputation as being safe for visitors and residents alike.

However, safety is more of a personal experience and isn’t just something you think about in terms of other people – it’s also nature, weather, the environment in this huge country. Its extreme winters with freezing temperatures, blizzards and snowfalls can make for some outright dangerous conditions.

If one is asked whether Canada is safe, definitely they will retort “Of course it’s safe!” And for the most part, that is true, especially when compared to its southern neighbour..

Wearing of masks mandates vary from province to province. As of early December, Alberta brought in new measures, face coverings and banning all social gatherings.

British Columbia have eased restrictions easily. A ban on indoor social gatherings remains, though outdoor gatherings of no more than 10 people are now permitted. Restaurants and bars are open only for indoor dining; however, they must stop serving alcohol at 10 p.m. and they must be closed by 11 p.m.

Alberta lifted a ban on indoor dining at restaurants on February 8, while bars and restaurants in Toronto are limited to take out service only.

As a preventive measure, most Canadian provinces continue to advise people to keep a distance of two meters (6.5 feet) as a way of curbing the spread of the virus.
